When: Thursday, April 18, 2024
Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C.
AFCOM and Data Center World are excited to announce the return of their third annual PowerUp Program.
The PowerUp Program introduces the many careers available in the data center industry to a group of young adults who are currently in technology or other industry-related programs of study.
The program provides:
- A “Data Center 101” session
- A presentation on the career opportunities available in the industry for people of various education and skill levels.
- Small group sessions to speak directly with professionals representing a variety of data center roles where they will share their day-to-day role, their personal stories of finding their career in the data center and field questions from the participants.
- A tour of the expo hall with demonstrations from solution providers to provide an example of the technologies, services, and innovation powering data centers.
How can I attend?
Our goal is to open this rewarding & growing industry to a new generation. We are focused on populations who are traditionally underrepresented in technology, who come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, and who would benefit from introductions into our dynamic industry where they can apply their current skills, education and, eventually, find viable careers.
If you are currently enrolled in a technology related program, or part of an organization whose students would benefit from participating in PowerUp, please contact us for more information.
Are you an Industry Professional who would like to help?
Please reach out to AFCOM Associate Director, Alicia Schap, if you would like to share your journey and role in the industry with the participants, are a Data Center World exhibitor who would like to provide a demonstration to the participants during the expo hall tour, or if your company is interested in sponsoring the program.
