Rack and Stack Challenge

Are tangled cables your worst nightmare? Do you take pride in the speed in which you can stack a rack? Or do you just want to participate in a fun challenge while attending Data Center World 2024?

If so, this competition is for you! Join us for a bracket style championship to determine who is the best and fastest Racker and Stacker!

Eight (8) teams of two (2) individuals will compete to see who can stack their rack most completely and accurately in the time allotted.

The BUILD Lounge is a place to connect and network with the solution providers and practitioners driving data center design and construction forward. 

Activities will include:

  • Build your own data center: Using LEGO®, Lincoln Logs and other ‘retro’ toy building materials, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Data Center building design and construction while networking with other attendees and sponsors during all three days of the expo.
  • Data Center BUILD reception: Join us on Wednesday afternoon to network with BUILD attendees and sponsors while enjoying cocktails and refreshments.
  • Lego competition: Hosted by a certified LEGO® expert, we will feature an interactive and fun LEGO® competition during the Wednesday expo hall hours – including during the Data Center BUILD reception.

Join Graeme Dymond, LEGO® Brick Expert from Dymond Bricks and Nick Della Mora, aka BrickinNick, and the winner of Season 3 of LEGO® Masters US, as they host a building competition using everyone's favorite LEGO® bricks. Have fun and win prizes! Graeme will also be building a 3.5-foot tall LEGO® Brick sculpture. You won't want to miss this unique event.

Innovation Challenge

Data Center World will be holding its Innovation Startup Competition this on the Data Center Live Stage, located in the Expo Hall.

Up to 6 companies will be chosen from the field of applicants to present on stage at Data Center World. Each company will have 10 minutes to provide their "elevator pitch" and answer questions form the judges. At the end of the competition, judges will convene to discuss their opinions in private and will present the winners on stage. 

All contestants will receive up to 2 standard-access passes to Data Center World, and winners of each category will be presented with a recognition plaque and have the opportunity to network with prospective customers and investors throughout the conference and expo!

Winners will be announced on Thursday, April 18 at the Data Center World Headquarters Booth starting at 11 AM EST

Winners will receive a notification email with the name of the host exhibitor on Thursday, April 18. Please note exhibitors are responsible for delivery/fulfillment of prizes to winners.

Data Center Site Tour

When: Thursday, April 18, 1:00 - 6:00 pm
Location: CoreSite VA3 Reston Campus

Buses will leave promptly at 1:30 – please head there directly after the Expo Hall.

Data Center World Standard Pass and All Access (Monday - Thursday) holders are eligible to add the site tour to their registration. Please note, that by adding this to your registration you are not guaranteed a spot. Event management will notify you 1 week prior to the event if you have been accepted on the tour.

Please note that a valid government ID will be required for the site tour.
