2020 Updates

Update: 6/03/20

As the global health situation continues to develop the Data Center World team has been continuously reviewing the best ways to serve the community. While we will not be meeting in person this August, we are moving forward with a plan to transform Data Center World into an all-virtual event named Data Center World 2020: A Virtual Experience.

While we are disappointed to not host our community in San Antonio, Texas, we're excited to bring the community together in a virtual format that will be available to our entire global community. Our team is working hard to deliver the same level of high-quality workshops, educational sessions and peer-based discussions that Data Center World attendees have come to expect every year.

We believe in the power of gathering our community to share, inspire, and strengthen our industry and are committed to providing you that opportunity in August, virtually.

Update: 5/20/20

The Data Center World team remains committed to bringing the community together for best-in-class workshops, educational sessions and peer-based discussions this summer.

With guidelines for physical events changing on a daily basis, Data Center World is hard at work building out a virtual option for the core elements of our event to provide a digital platform for our community to connect whether we are able to host a physical event in San Antonio or not.

Details of our virtual program is being finalized and will be shared soon. In the meantime, we hope you keep the dates of August 24-27 blocked for Data Center World.

Update: 4/28/20

We believe in the power of gathering our community to share, inspire, and strengthen our industry through live events. While we hope to get together in person, we are exploring digital options to augment the live experience, and if needed, replace the live event if conditions aren’t right for us to meet face to face in August.

The health and well being of the Data Center World community is our top priority therefore our planning efforts for the August event include increased cleaning/sanitation, hygiene advocacy, increased availability to medical staff, travel restriction mitigation, physical distancing measures and modified food service, to name a few.

As Data Center World draws closer, we will be in a better position to share specific details around onsite protocols that take into account the current health situation.

Update: 4/6/20

We hope that our community members are keeping safe during these uncertain times. Data Center World continues to keep a close eye on the events around us as we plan to host the data center community in San Antonio this coming August. Our team, in partnership with our advisory board members, are working diligently to bring you the best program possible, and are very much focused on ensuring the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors.

As we all work as one community to minimize the impact of this crisis on our society and business operations, we feel it’s important to continue to share knowledge and innovative ideas to keep our industry united. Over the coming weeks we will be addressing the most urgent demands of our rapidly changing and uncertain business environment and providing resources that lead to answers and a positive path forward. With this unprecedented approach, you’ll lose no ground in your quest to stay informed on the latest in data center developments and be able to exchange ideas with your peers and other industry experts. We hope you join us and become a part of this urgent and practical conversation.

Update: 3/5/20

After close consultation with our partners in the data center industry, we’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule Data Center World to August 24-27, 2020.

Upon learning the news of San Antonio’s local state of disaster and public health emergency on Monday, and in light of corporate travel considerations continuing to escalate, we worked as quickly as possible to secure new dates so that you can adjust your plans accordingly.

Having spent the past year preparing for the event with our advisory boards, speakers, exhibitors and event partners, we're genuinely disappointed not to be able to host you in the coming weeks, but the experience and safety of our community and everyone involved in the event continues to be our top priority.

To reiterate, we are pleased to confirm Data Center World 2020 will now take place August 24-27 in San Antonio, Texas. Every year, we look forward to connecting with the community and sharing the vision of the data center together.

We want to thank all our customers and partners for their support, open discussions and encouragement. As everyone has been reminding us, great things happen when the community comes together and connects at Data Center World.

González Convention Center on our next steps regarding the event. We understand that this has caused concern with members of our community, and are working diligently to provide you with an update very soon.  We thank all our customers and partners for their support, open discussions and encouragement.
